About

Statement
Timothy Raines paints the shiny-object-ive-ness that makes up a Mans life – from childhood to old age. The part that some hide or control better than others, yet we all have had at one point in life. The ”gotta have it, be it, own it, drive it, live it“ drug your ego craves. Fame, competition, speed, sound, strength. The mantra is “he who dies with the most toys wins”. This is the crossroads of what it is to be human versus animal – our instincts for the best mane, most colorful feathers, best performance – these things scratch an itch we will never tame. From an execution standpoint, I strive to find the balance of Divine Proportion and derive satisfaction from the physics and geometry of my work at the macro and micro levels. Chaos and order seem to coexist at both levels and that is the blueprint of our Universe.
